This past spring I submitted my CA Form 501.
This is the first official step someone takes to declare their intention to run for political office in the State of California.
What does this mean?
This means I have officially stated my intention to run for the office of Governor of California on the Democratic ticket.
That’s pretty much it!
I am not officially running, yet.
Intending to run and filing this form means that I can speak, blog, and write about my ideas for the campaign and issues that matter – not just to me, but to the People of California. I’ll also be answering any questions you send my way.
And, it gives me permission to open up a campaign bank account if I choose to do so. At this time I am not. Right now, my plan is to run a budget-free campaign entirely through this website and social media.
It means that I can “talk the talk and walk the walk” as much as possible, or appropriate, until mid-December 2025. That’s when I can begin collecting the 6,000 signatures needed to waive the $4,000+- filing fee. Signatures can be collected between December 19th through February 3, 2026.
Signatures-In-Lieu-of-Filing-Fee are due by February 4. After I collect the required number, I’ll qualify to be on the Primary ballot.
So – if you don’t know me, or even if you do, read this blog to get a feel for where I stand! Send me your questions! I’ll use them as inspiration for future posts. And please feel free to comment and share your thoughts in the comments on anything I write.
I will always listen to all sides of an issue to find the best way forward!
While I have always been a Socially Progressive Democrat, a great leader isn’t defined by partisanship, but by their ability to lead, facilitate, solve problems creatively, and find the best solutions for our collective challenges.
At my last count there are 76 potential candidates running for the office of Governor of California.
